Become a train driver for a day
If you are a train enthusiast or simply curious to discover the fascinating world of railways, the driving course on a diesel locomotive offered by the CFVE is the opportunity for you.
This training course offers a unique experience that will allow you to become a train driver for a day . You will be welcomed upon your arrival with breakfast, followed by theoretical training on safety and rail traffic rules. Then you will move on to practice with training which will include explaining the controls, preparing and starting the locomotive.
Once this training is completed, you will have the chance to take control of the locomotive for an unforgettable journey from Pacy-sur-Eure to Breuilpont .You can even be accompanied during this unique experience, with your loved ones able to take their place on board as passengers.
How the day went
10:00 a.m.: Welcome breakfast
10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: History of Rouen Orléans train Line, Theoretical training and Pacy-sur-Eure station's guided tour.
1:30 p.m.-2:15 p.m.: Friendly lunch with the trainers where everyone brings their own meal
2:15 p.m.-2:45 p.m.: Preparation of the traction machine and explanation of the controls
2:45 p.m.-4:30 p.m.: Practical training and online departure from Pacy-sur-Eure, the two trainees take turns driving.
The shunter or locomotive used for the driving course will be chosen on the morning of the course by the trainer, depending on the availability of the equipment (commercial use scheduled, out of order for renovation or reserved for another activity).
This unique experience is also an excellent original gift idea for train enthusiasts and anyone who wants to discover the fascinating world of railways.
